Overflow ministry heals
Pastor Arnold Hoskins of Overflow Ministry, and members of the multi-cultural congregation of the Korean United Methodist Church set up a prayer tent outside of the Metra Flossmoor Train Station on a scorching Saturday afternoon.
For nearly two hours they prayed for pedestrians and business owners while also passing out bottles of water to pedestrians. According to Pastor Hoskins, “many people wanted prayer for world peace. This is a strong indication of what is on the hearts and minds of people in America.”
The ministry plans to continue the prayer campaign through the Fall season at various locations throughout the community.
Overflow Ministry’s commitment to the community is not a new phenomenon. They have helped many homeless families secure permanent housing and employment. Through a collaborative effort with Flossmoor Community Church, they serve dinner to PADS shelter participants.
Members of Overflow Ministry has monthly afternoon bible studies for Harvey YMCA Seniors’ Home, and also provide adult learning classes at the Veterans Home on a weekly basis. The ministry welcomes volunteers, donations of food, clothing and furniture for the needy.
